Sikh Girl Attacked in New York School, March on June 30

The Sikh Coalition reports that Gurprit Kaur is the latest victim of school hatred — her hair was clipped by another student. The group has organized a March on June 30 to demand rights for students in New York. Unfortunately I’ll be out of town.
Excerpt from the press release:
On Monday, June 9, 2008 at approximately 11:00 am while in English class, Gurprit’s classmate told her that a portion of her braided hair had been cut off. Gurprit did not notice while her hair was being cut behind her back. Given the deep spiritual significance of her hair, Gurprit was extremely upset. She immediately conveyed her dismay to teachers.
Gurprit’s school conducted an investigation and within hours advised her that a classmate (a juvenile who shall remain nameless) had admitted to cutting her hair during a class they share together and where they sit next to each other. The school returned Gurprit’s hair to her wadded in a tissue. The perpetrator was suspended the same day.

A suspension for the student is not sufficient punishment. The Student should be expelled from school. You know many schools expell students under a zero tollerance wepons ban or threat ban policy. This girl was a wictim of terror thus threat to her. Cutting her hair was a act of terror and a threat to her. She is also a victim of HATE CRIME! Her hair was cut because the student hates her religion, culture and ethnicity!
Hate crimes need to be enforced, the student should be charged as an adult and sent to jail. If not in future the same studen may do something to a Muslim Girl, but then he really will be in trouble. Because then the media and the prosecuter will really through the Law Book at him!
If all Sikhs suported Sikhs the was Muslims support Muslims, then real action will take place.
Oh did I mention as for schools with a zero intolerance policy for weapons in school!!!!
Well! This student had a pair of sharp sissors, and Scissors are a weapon even worse a deadly one. All you got to do to kill someone or deeply injure someone is to stab them with scissors!
So just for having the sissors he should be expelled and procecuted under a weapons in school charge.
But so far he hasnt, because the Law people are Racist Bigots!!!
But if al Sikhs push for weapons charges, hate crime charges, terrorizing another student chrges. Assult charges. Then it will happen!
